Supported by ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and applicable TÜV certifications, we handle different sizes, bulk orders, and project-specific requirements, with material test certificates and inspection documentation available as required.
What Are Nickel Alloy Incoloy 800 Pipes and Tubes?
Nickel Alloy Incoloy 800 Pipes and Tubes are manufactured from UNS N08800, also known as Alloy 800, Werkstoff 1.4876, and X10NiCrAlTi32-20. This nickel-iron-chromium alloy contains approximately 30–35% nickel and 19–23% chromium, with iron forming the balance. Aluminium and titanium help maintain its stability during high-temperature service.
These pipes and tubes offer good resistance to oxidation, carburization, and corrosion in elevated-temperature environments. They are widely used in refineries, petrochemical plants, industrial furnaces, boilers, and heat exchangers. Incoloy 800 pipes are generally specified by nominal diameter and schedule, while tubes are ordered by outside diameter and wall thickness. The alloy is distinct from Inconel, which belongs to a different family of nickel-based alloys.

Nickel Alloy Incoloy 800 Pipes and Tubes Standards
ASTM B407 / ASME SB407 covers seamless pipe and tube in Alloy 800, 800H and 800HT. Welded pipe follows ASTM B514 / ASME SB514, and welded tube follows ASTM B515 / ASME SB515. Seamless condenser and heat exchanger tube follows ASTM B163 / ASME SB163.
General requirements come from ASTM B829 for seamless product, B775 for welded pipe and B751 for welded tube. Pipe dimensions follow ASME B36.19M, and matching parts follow ASTM B564 for flanges, B366 for fittings, B409 for plate and B408 for bar.
Each lot passes a hydrostatic test or eddy current testing as the standard permits, plus flattening and flaring tests on tube. For 800H and 800HT, we also check grain size. Positive material identification confirms nickel and chromium on the finished length, and third-party inspection is welcome at our works.
Incoloy 800 vs 800H vs 800HT: Which Grade of Nickel Alloy Incoloy 800 Pipes and Tubes Do You Need?
The three grades share a base recipe, but they behave differently at heat.
| Point | Alloy 800 | Alloy 800H | Alloy 800HT |
|---|---|---|---|
| UNS | N08800 | N08810 | N08811 |
| EN Number | 1.4876 | 1.4958 | 1.4959 |
| Carbon | 0.10 max | 0.05 – 0.10 | 0.06 – 0.10 |
| Aluminium + Titanium | 0.30 – 1.20 | 0.30 – 1.20 | 0.85 – 1.20 |
| Anneal | About 980 °C or above | 1149 °C min | 1149 °C min |
| Grain Size | Not specified | ASTM No. 5 or coarser | ASTM No. 5 or coarser |
| Best At | Corrosion and moderate heat | Creep strength above about 600 °C | Highest creep and rupture strength |
Choose 800 for corrosion service and moderate temperature. Choose 800H when the pipe works under pressure above about 600 °C, where design codes allow the higher stresses only for the H grades. Choose 800HT when you need the strongest creep and rupture performance, as in reformer and cracker outlets. The carbon and coarse grain in the H grades are what give them creep strength.
Heat Resistance, Corrosion Resistance and Limits of Nickel Alloy Incoloy 800 Pipes and Tubes
Incoloy 800 resists oxidation in air up to about 1100 °C where loads are light. It also resists carburization and nitriding, which attack plain stainless steel in hot process gas. With around 32% nickel, it stands up much better to chloride stress corrosion cracking than 304 or 316, though it is not immune.
Its design limits are lower than many buyers expect. Design codes usually limit plain Alloy 800 to about 590 °C for pressure parts. Above that, use 800H or 800HT. Long exposure between about 650 and 870 °C can also cause carbide and sigma phase to form, which reduces ductility at room temperature. Alloy 800 is not a sulfur-resistant alloy in reducing atmospheres, and for strong sulfuric or phosphoric acid, Incoloy 825 is the better pick.

The lower room-temperature strength of 800H and 800HT is the trade-off for coarse grain, which gives better creep resistance at high temperature.
Nickel Alloy Incoloy 800 Pipes and Tubes Size and Weight Chart
Weight per metre = (OD − wall) × wall × 0.0249, with OD and wall in mm. This uses a density of 7.94 g/cm³. Treat the numbers as estimates, since wall tolerance moves the real weight.
OD and wall are in mm. Multiply the result by the pipe or tube length to obtain the total weight.
