EN 10204 3.1 material certificates are also available for applicable orders.

What Are Seamless Tubes?

Seamless tubes are hollow steel tubes made without a weld seam. The mill starts with a solid round billet, heats it, and pierces it to make a thick hollow shell called a mother tube. Then the real tube work begins. The mill pulls the mother tube through a die and over a mandrel at room temperature, and repeats the pull in several passes until the tube reaches the exact outside diameter and wall thickness you ordered. Between passes, the tube goes through annealing, so it stays soft enough to draw. After the last pass, the mill straightens, cleans, tests, and cuts the tube.

Types of Seamless Tubes

Seamless tubes are available in different types based on their application, manufacturing process, and surface finish. Boiler and superheater tubes are used for high-temperature water and steam service, while heat exchanger and condenser tubes transfer heat between fluids. Instrumentation tubes are used for controlled gas and liquid flow, hydraulic tubes handle high-pressure oil, and mechanical tubes are used for shafts, bushes, bearings, and other components.

Types by Manufacturing Process

Hot finished seamless tubes are formed at high temperatures and are suitable for larger sizes and heavier wall applications. Cold drawn seamless tubes are processed further at room temperature to achieve closer tolerances, accurate dimensions, and a smoother surface. Seamless tubes suppliers can offer either process depending on the required application and specification.

Types by Surface Finish

Common finishes include annealed and pickled, bright annealed, and polished tubes. Bright annealed tubes provide a smooth and clean surface, while polished tubes are suitable for applications requiring higher surface cleanliness, including food and pharmaceutical equipment. U-bent seamless tubes are also available for heat exchangers and similar applications.

We are a trusted name among seamless tubes manufacturers in India. We make and stock seamless tubes for boilers, heat exchangers, condensers, and instrument lines, and we keep ready stock of popular sizes so orders leave the yard quickly. Every batch follows ASTM, ASME, and EN standards.

As a stainless steel seamless tubes manufacturer, we produce ASTM A213 and A269 tubes in 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 321, 347, and 904L, in annealed and pickled or bright annealed finish. As a carbon steel seamless tubes supplier, we deliver ASTM A179, A192, and A210 tubes for heat exchangers, condensers, and boilers. If your plant runs hot, our alloy steel seamless tubes in T11, T22, and T91 hold their strength in superheaters and reheaters.

For clean, precise lines, we supply bright annealed instrumentation tubes with smooth bores. For heat transfer equipment, we supply straight and U-bend heat exchanger tubes cut to your drawing. Each order ships with a mill test certificate, and we test it for chemistry, strength, and pressure before dispatch. We serve buyers in India and more than 85+ countries.

What Is the Difference Between Seamless Tubes and Seamless Pipes?

The main difference is how you order them and what they do. You order a pipe by nominal size and schedule, and it mainly carries fluid. You order a tube by exact outside diameter and wall thickness, and it works where precision, heat transfer, or a tight fit matters. Both can be seamless, but seamless tubes are usually cold drawn, which gives them tighter tolerances and a smoother finish.

Choose a seamless pipe when you build a process line that carries fluid under pressure. Choose a seamless tube when you build a boiler, a heat exchanger, an instrument line, or a machine part.

Available Sizes, Dimensions and Tolerances

We supply seamless tubes from 1/4" to 6" OD, in walls from 22 BWG (0.71 mm) to 10 BWG (3.40 mm) and heavier walls up to 6.35 mm. Tubes do not use schedule numbers. You order them by outside diameter and wall thickness, and the standard sets how far each can vary. A cold drawn tube can hold a much smaller size variation than a hot finished one, which is why heat exchangers and instrument lines use cold drawn tubes.

Standard lengths are 6 m and 12 m, plus random lengths and exact cut lengths for heat exchangers. As a seamless tubes supplier in India, we hold ready stock of popular sizes, subject to availability, and we bend tubes into U-shapes on request.

Seamless Tubes FAQs

Common questions about seamless tube grades, sizes, standards, testing, and supply.

What is the difference between cold drawn and hot finished seamless tubes?

Hot finished tubes are shaped while hot and suit heavier walls. Cold drawn tubes are pulled cold, so they hold tighter tolerances and give a smoother finish.

What is the difference between ASTM A213 and ASTM A269 tubes?

ASTM A213 covers boiler, superheater, and heat exchanger tubes and sets stricter mechanical and testing rules. ASTM A269 covers general service stainless steel tubes.

Which seamless tubes are used in boilers and heat exchangers?

Boilers and heat exchangers use ASTM A179, A192, and A210 carbon steel tubes, A213 alloy steel tubes, and A213 stainless steel tubes.

What does BWG mean on a tube?

BWG stands for Birmingham Wire Gauge. It is a gauge number for wall thickness, and a lower number means a thicker wall.

Which seamless tube grades do you supply?

We supply ASTM A179, A192, A210, A334, A519, A213 T5 to T91, stainless steel 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 317L, 321, 347, and 904L, and duplex 2205 and 2507.

What sizes do your seamless tubes come in?

We supply seamless tubes from 1/4" to 6" OD, in walls from 22 BWG to 6.35 mm. Other sizes are available on request.

Which certificate do I get with seamless tubes?

Every order ships with an EN 10204 3.1 certificate. We issue 3.2 with third-party inspection on request.

Are you a seamless tubes manufacturer or a supplier?

Both. We manufacture seamless tubes and also work as a seamless tubes supplier in India, with ready stock of popular sizes.

Do you export seamless tubes outside India?

Yes. We ship to more than 85+ countries and handle export packing and paperwork.
