What Are Stainless Steel Seamless Tubes?
Stainless steel seamless tubes are made without a welded joint running along the tube. Production starts with a solid stainless steel billet, which is heated and pierced to create a hollow tube. The tube then passes through drawing or rolling equipment to reach the required outside diameter, wall thickness, and surface finish.
Cold drawing can further improve dimensional accuracy and create a smooth inside surface, which is useful for heat exchangers, instrumentation, hydraulic systems, and other applications where close tolerances matter. Heat treatment helps restore the material’s corrosion resistance and mechanical properties after forming.
After production, the tubes are sized, straightened, cleaned, and tested according to the required specification. Depending on the order, testing may include eddy current, hydrostatic, ultrasonic, or other inspections. Each tube can also be identified with a heat number and supplied with material and test documentation.

304 Seamless Tubes, 316L Seamless Tubes, 321 and 347 Seamless Tubes, 904L Seamless Tubes, Duplex Seamless Tubes, Instrumentation Tubes, Heat Exchanger Tubes, Stainless Steel Seamless Tubes Manufacturers and Suppliers in India
We are one of the stainless steel seamless tubes manufacturers in India that exchanger builders, instrument fitters, and machinery plants call when the grade and the tolerance must both be right. Our yard near Mumbai holds common grades and sizes in ready stock, and we draw other sizes to order.
For heat exchangers and condensers, our ASTM A213 304, 316L, 321, and 347 tubes slip into tubesheets and roll tight. For instrumentation and clean-service lines, our bright annealed ASTM A269 316L tubes give a smooth, clean bore. For hydraulic and high-pressure lines, our cold drawn tubes hold the size that ferrules and compression fittings need. For seawater and acid duty, our 904L and duplex tubes take over from 316L.
As a stainless steel seamless tubes supplier, we treat the bore, the ends, and the paperwork as part of the tube. We cut each tube to exact length, deburr and square the ends, clean the bore, bend U-tubes to your radius, and cap every tube against dirt. Buyers comparing stainless steel seamless tubes suppliers can send us their grade, OD, wall, length, finish, quantity, and port. We will reply with a price, a lead time, and the certificate type.

What Is the Difference Between Stainless Steel Seamless Tubes and Stainless Steel Welded Tubes?
The difference is the seam and the price. Seamless tubes start as a solid bar and carry no weld, so the wall behaves the same all the way around. Welded tubes start as flat strip that the mill rolls and welds, so they carry one seam. A well-annealed, tested weld performs well, and welded tubes cost less and come in long lengths. But design codes give welded tubes a joint factor, often 0.85, so a welded tube of the same wall carries a little less pressure.
Choose seamless tubes for high pressure, high temperature, heat exchangers, and instrument lines where one leak ruins the system. Choose welded tubes for low-pressure lines, frames, and cost-led jobs.
| Factor | Seamless Tubes | Welded Tubes |
|---|---|---|
| Starting Material | Solid bar | Flat strip |
| Seam | None | One longitudinal weld |
| Wall Behaviour | Same all around | Weld zone differs slightly |
| ASME B31.3 Quality Factor | 1.00 | 0.85 (higher with full examination) |
| Wall Range | Thin to heavy | Thin to medium |
| Tolerance | Very tight | Tight |
| Pressure and Temperature | High | Low to high within the joint factor |
| Price | Higher | Lower |
| Lead Time | Longer | Shorter |
| Choose It When | The tube is critical, hot, or under pressure | The tube is general service or cost-led |

Common Materials
Stainless steel seamless tubes are available in several material families, with each grade offering different levels of corrosion resistance, strength, and temperature performance. The right material depends on the fluid, pressure, temperature, fabrication method, and service environment.
304 / 304L: 304 provides good general corrosion resistance for food, water, chemical, and engineering applications. 304L has lower carbon content, making it suitable for welded fabrication.
316 / 316L: Molybdenum improves resistance to chlorides and chemicals. These grades are widely used in marine, pharmaceutical, chemical, and process equipment.
317L: Higher molybdenum content provides improved resistance to aggressive chemicals compared with 316L.
321: Titanium stabilization helps maintain performance during prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures.
347: Niobium stabilization improves resistance to intergranular corrosion in high-temperature service.
904L (UNS N08904): High nickel and molybdenum content provides strong resistance to severe acidic and corrosive environments.
Duplex 2205 (UNS S32205): Combines high mechanical strength with good resistance to chloride corrosion and stress corrosion cracking.
Super Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750): Provides higher strength and excellent resistance to severe chloride and marine environments.
Experienced stainless steel seamless tube suppliers can provide these grades with the required dimensions, standards, surface finish, testing, and material documentation. Selecting the correct grade helps ensure reliable performance throughout the tube's service life.

Available Sizes, Dimensions and Tolerances
We supply stainless steel seamless tubes from 1/4" to 6" OD, in walls from 22 BWG (0.71 mm) to 6.35 mm. Tubes do not use schedule numbers. You give the outside diameter and the wall thickness, and the standard sets how far each can vary. Cold drawn tubes hold a much tighter size than hot finished ones, which is why instrument, hydraulic, and exchanger tubes are cold drawn. Always say whether your design uses the minimum wall or the average wall, because ASTM A213 and A269 define them differently, and your pressure calculation depends on the answer.
Standard lengths are 6 m, 9 m, and 12 m, plus exact cut lengths for heat exchangers. As a stainless steel seamless tubes supplier in India, we hold common grades and sizes in stock, subject to availability.

Stainless Steel Seamless Tubes FAQs
Common questions about stainless steel seamless tube grades, dimensions, testing, finishes, and supply.
Which grade should I choose for instrumentation tubing?
Grade 316L bright annealed is the usual choice, because it resists chlorides and cleaning chemicals and gives a smooth, clean bore. Grade 304 works for mild, indoor service.
Why do heat exchangers use ASTM A213 tubes instead of ASTM A269?
ASTM A213 is written for boiler, superheater, and heat exchanger duty, so it sets stricter mechanical and testing rules for tubes that carry heat and pressure. ASTM A269 covers general service tubing.
When should I pick bright annealed tubes over annealed and pickled tubes?
Pick bright annealed tubes for instrument, sanitary, and clean-service lines, where a smooth bore and a mirror finish matter. Pick annealed and pickled tubes for heat exchangers and general process lines.
Can you bend stainless steel seamless tubes into U-shapes?
Yes. We bend tubes to your radius and cut them to your length. Tell us if your code requires heat treatment after bending, and we will confirm the route.
How tight are the size tolerances on cold drawn tubes?
They are much tighter than on hot finished tubes. The standard sets the exact limits for each size, and we can quote a tighter class by agreement.
Should I specify the minimum wall or the average wall?
State which one your design uses. Pressure calculations normally use the minimum wall, and ASTM A213 and A269 define the minimum and the average differently, so the choice changes the allowed pressure.
Which tubes suit high-temperature service?
Choose the H grades, 304H, 316H, 321H, or 347H, for steam and furnace service, and choose stabilised 321 or 347 where the tube sits between about 425°C and 850°C.
Do you clean the tubes for instrument or oxygen service?
We clean and cap every tube, and we can supply degreased bores on request. Tell us the cleanliness standard your project uses, and we will confirm the route.
What sizes do your stainless steel seamless tubes come in?
We supply tubes from 1/4" to 6" OD, in walls from 22 BWG to 6.35 mm. Other sizes are available on request.
What decides the price of stainless steel seamless tubes?
Nickel and molybdenum prices, grade, size, wall thickness, finish, tolerance class, quantity, and delivery port all shape the price. Send us your enquiry for a current quote.
Which certificate comes with the tubes?
Every order ships with an EN 10204 3.1 certificate. We issue 3.2 with third-party inspection on request.
Are you a stainless steel seamless tubes manufacturer or a supplier?
Both. We manufacture the tubes and also work as a stainless steel seamless tubes supplier in India, with ready stock of common grades and sizes.
Do you export stainless steel seamless tubes?
Yes. We ship to 85+ countries and handle export packing and paperwork.
