Pipes and Tubes Manufacturers, Supplier, and Exporter in India

Sachiya Steel International is a leading pipes and tubes manufacturer in India, offering seamless, ERW, LSAW, and SSAW products in carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, nickel alloy, and copper-nickel grades. Produced to ASTM A106, A312, A333, A213, and A269 standards, with ASME SA/SB equivalents and grades such as UNS S31803/S32205 duplex, the range covers sizes from 1/8″ NB to 48″ OD in schedules from SCH 5S to XXS. Every length is made from mill-certified raw material and verified through hydrostatic, eddy current, PMI, and ultrasonic testing before dispatch. With ISO 9001:2015 and PED 2014/68/EU certification and a monthly capacity of 100 metric tonnes, the company supplies pipes and tubes to oil and gas, power generation, petrochemical, chemical processing, and water treatment industries across 85+ countries.

What Are Pipes and Tubes?

Pipes and tubes are hollow steel or alloy products used to carry fluids, gases, and slurries or to serve structural and mechanical roles. The two terms are often used interchangeably, but they differ in how they are sized and specified. Pipes are identified by nominal pipe size (NPS) and wall schedule, such as SCH 40 or SCH 80, and are designed mainly for flow and pressure containment under ASME B36.10M and B36.19M. Tubes are specified by exact outside diameter and wall thickness (inches or BWG gauge), with tighter dimensional tolerances for applications where precision and heat transfer matter, as in ASTM A213 and A269 products.

Types of Pipes and Tubes

  • Seamless Pipes and Tubes: Extruded or pierced from solid billets with no weld seam, suited to high-pressure and high-temperature service (ASTM A106, A312 seamless, A333).
  • ERW Pipes and Tubes: Formed from cold-rolled strip and joined by electric resistance welding, offering uniform wall thickness and a smooth finish.
  • LSAW Pipes: Longitudinally submerged arc welded from plate, used for large-diameter, thick-wall lines.
  • SSAW Pipes: Spirally welded from coil, produced in large diameters for low-to-medium pressure lines and piling.
  • Heat Exchanger and Boiler Tubes: Precision tubes for condensers, superheaters, and heat transfer equipment (ASTM A213, A249, A179).

Common Materials

  • Carbon and alloy steel: ASTM A106 Gr. B, A335 P11/P22, A333 Gr. 6
  • Stainless steel: 304/304L (UNS S30400/S30403), 316/316L (UNS S31600/S31603), 321, 347
  • Duplex and super duplex: UNS S31803/S32205, S32750
  • Nickel alloys: Inconel 625 (UNS N06625), Monel 400 (UNS N04400), Hastelloy C276 (UNS N10276)
  • Copper-nickel: 90/10 and 70/30 (UNS C70600, C71500)

The right choice depends on operating pressure, temperature, corrosion environment, and the applicable code, which is why grade, standard, and manufacturing method are always stated together on the mill test certificate.

Pipes and Tubes Material and Grades

We supply pipes and tubes in five main material families: stainless steel, carbon steel, alloy steel, duplex, and nickel and copper alloys. Each family has its own strengths, so the right grade depends on pressure, temperature, and the fluid inside. Every grade below is available as seamless or welded product, and each comes with a mill test certificate that lists its chemistry, UNS number, and standard.

Material Common Grades UNS / Werkstoff No. Standards
Stainless Steel 304 / 304L S30400 / S30403 – 1.4301 / 1.4307 ASTM A312, A269, A213

Copper-Nickel 90/10, 70/30 C70600 / C71500 – 2.0872 / 2.0882 ASTM B466, B467

Stainless steel is our most requested family. The 304 and 316 grades handle most water, food, and chemical lines. The "L" versions carry less carbon, so welds stay corrosion resistant. Grades 321 and 347 add titanium or niobium to stay stable in hot service.

Duplex and super duplex grades give you nearly twice the yield strength of 316L, plus strong resistance to chloride stress cracking. They suit offshore, desalination, and oil and gas lines.

Carbon steel grades cover water, gas, oil, and steam at a low cost per foot. A333 Gr. 6 stays tough in low-temperature service down to -50°F.

Alloy steel grades such as P11, P22, and P91 add chromium and molybdenum. They resist creep and oxidation in power plant and refinery steam lines.

Nickel and copper-nickel alloys take on the harshest jobs, from hot acids and seawater to high-temperature furnace zones.

Need a grade that is not on this list? We can also supply it against a custom specification or third-party inspection request.

What Is the Difference Between Pipes and Tubes?

The main difference between pipes and tubes is how they are sized, specified, and used. Pipes are generally specified by Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) and Schedule, while tubes are typically specified by their exact outside diameter (OD) and wall thickness. Pipes are commonly used to transport fluids and gases, whereas tubes are widely used for heat transfer, mechanical, structural, and precision applications.

Parameter Pipes Tubes
Sizing Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) and Schedule Exact outside diameter (OD) and wall thickness
Wall Thickness Commonly specified by Schedule, such as SCH 40, SCH 80, and XXS Specified by exact wall thickness or gauge, such as BWG
Tolerance Generally wider dimensional tolerances Generally tighter dimensional tolerances
Shape Primarily round Round, square, rectangular, and other profiles
Main Applications Fluid and gas transportation, process piping, and pressure systems Heat exchangers, boilers, mechanical equipment, structural applications, and fabrication
Common Standards ASTM, ASME, API, and other applicable standards ASTM, ASME, EN, and other applicable standards

Pipes and Tubes Chemical Composition

Chemistry decides how well a grade resists rust and how easily it welds. Values are in weight percent, maximum unless a range shows.

Seamless and Welded Pipes and Tubes

Seamless pipes and tubes start as a solid billet that mills pierce and draw into a hollow shape, so no weld seam exists. They handle high pressure and high heat. Welded pipes and tubes start as strip or plate that mills roll and weld along the seam. They cost less, hold a uniform wall, and come in larger diameters. Every welded length passes eddy current or ultrasonic testing, and every seamless length passes hydrostatic testing.

Available Sizes, Dimensions and Schedules

We supply pipes from 1/8" to 48" NPS and tubes from 1/4" to 6" OD in a wide range of wall thicknesses and specifications. Pipe wall thicknesses range from SCH 5S, 10S, 40S, and 80S through SCH 160 and XXS, while tube wall thicknesses range from 22 BWG to 10 BWG, with heavier walls available on request.

Standard pipe lengths include single random lengths of 16–22 ft and double random lengths of 36–40 ft. Custom cut lengths can also be supplied according to project requirements.

As an experienced pipes and tubes supplier in India, we maintain ready stock of selected sizes, including large-NPS pipes and thin-wall tubes, subject to availability.
