ERW Pipes Manufacturer in India
ERW Pipes Manufacturer in India
Sachiya Steel International is a leading ERW pipes manufacturer in India. We make black, galvanized, API 5L, and stainless steel ERW pipes from 1/2″ to 24″ NPS, in walls from SCH 10 to SCH 80 and IS 1239 medium and heavy classes. Our ERW pipes follow ASTM A53 Type E, ASTM A135, ASTM A500, API 5L, ASTM A312, and IS standards, and every length passes hydrostatic and NDT checks before dispatch. As an ERW pipes supplier in India, we hold ready stock of popular sizes, cut to your length, and ship with EN 10204 3.1 certificates. Our ISO 9001:2015 and PED 2014/68/EU certifications and a capacity of 100 metric tonnes a month back every order. We supply ERW pipes to oil and gas, water, construction, power, and process industries in 85+ countries.
What Are ERW Pipes?
ERW pipes are steel pipes made by electric resistance welding. The mill rolls a flat steel coil into a round shape, then passes a high-frequency current through the two open edges. The current heats the edges until they soften, and rollers squeeze them together into one solid weld. No filler metal is added.
This process is fast, clean, and low cost. It gives a smooth surface, an even wall thickness, and a tight, round shape. That is why ERW pipes are the most widely used welded pipe for water lines, gas lines, oil lines, structures, and general engineering work. You can buy ERW pipes in carbon steel, galvanized steel, API 5L line pipe grades, and stainless steel. Sizes run from small conduit lines to 24-inch pipelines.
ERW Pipe
High-quality ERW pipes manufactured for reliable performance across oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, construction, water, and engineering applications. Available in multiple materials, sizes, wall thicknesses, grades, and manufacturing specifications.
Types of ERW Pipes
- Black ERW pipes are plain carbon steel with a natural dark finish. They carry water, gas, oil, and air, and suit structures and scaffolding.
- Galvanized ERW pipes (GI pipes) wear a zinc coat that fights rust. Fire sprinkler lines, water supply, and outdoor structures use them.
- API 5L ERW pipes are line pipe in grades B to X70. They carry oil and gas in field and distribution pipelines.
- Stainless steel ERW pipes resist rust and chemicals. Food, dairy, pharma, and chemical plants choose them.
- Structural ERW pipes come in round, square, and rectangular sections under ASTM A500 and IS 4923. Builders use them for frames, poles, and supports.
- ERW boiler and heat exchanger tubes meet ASTM A178 and A214. Low-pressure boilers and heat exchangers use them.

ERW Pipes vs Seamless Pipes
The main difference is the seam. ERW pipes have one longitudinal weld, and seamless pipes have none. Modern high-frequency ERW pipes have strong, heat-treated welds and an even wall, so they work well for many water, gas, oil, and structural jobs.
Seamless pipes cost more and are commonly used where higher pressure and temperature requirements apply. Choose ERW when the specification allows a welded pipe and you want a smooth surface and potentially shorter lead time. Choose seamless where the applicable design and service conditions require a seamless construction.
| Point | ERW Pipes | Seamless Pipes |
|---|---|---|
| Made From | Steel coil or strip | Solid round billet |
| Seam | One welded seam, heat-treated | None |
| Wall Thickness | Very even | Can vary more |

ERW Pipe Size Table
Many buyers confuse the schedule number with the wall thickness. The schedule is a code, not a measurement. A higher number means a thicker wall, but the wall in mm changes with each pipe size. The outside diameter stays fixed for each NPS, so a thicker wall makes the bore smaller.

ERW Pipes We Manufacture and Supply
As experienced ERW Pipes Suppliers, we offer a broad selection of welded pipe products for construction, infrastructure, engineering, and industrial applications. Our range includes black ERW pipes, galvanized ERW pipes, API 5L ERW pipes, ASTM A53 Type E pipes, IS 1239 medium and heavy pipes, stainless steel ERW pipes, and coated ERW pipes.
We can also supply square and rectangular hollow sections, scaffolding pipes, fire sprinkler pipes, conduit pipes, structural tubes, and ERW boiler tubes, depending on the required specification.
For corrosion protection and project-specific requirements, coated options such as 3LPE, FBE, and epoxy-coated ERW pipes can be supplied where applicable. Pipes are available in different grades, sizes, wall thicknesses, and lengths to match application and project requirements. Product markings, documentation, and applicable inspection requirements can also be provided according to the agreed specification.
ERW Pipes Testing and Inspection
The weld seam matters most in an ERW pipe, so we test it harder than the pipe body.
- Chemical analysis on every heat of coil
- Tensile, yield, and elongation tests
- Flattening and bend tests to prove the weld holds when pressed and bent
- Flaring test on the pipe end
- Hydrostatic test on every length
- Eddy current or ultrasonic test along the full weld
- Weld seam annealing check through hardness and macro tests
- PMI for stainless steel grades
- Third-party inspection on request
ERW Pipe Coatings, End Finishes and Packing
Coatings. We supply ERW pipes black, varnished, or oiled. For water, fire-fighting, and outdoor lines, we offer hot dip galvanizing. For buried or pipeline use, we apply 3LPE, FBE, or epoxy coating.
End finish. Plain ends suit pipes that will be cut or welded on site. Bevelled ends (37.5°) go straight to butt welding. Threaded and coupled ends fit water and gas lines.
Packing. We bundle pipes with steel straps, fit plastic end caps, and pack export orders in strong, weatherproof bundles or cases for sea and air freight.
Applications of ERW Pipes
- Oil and gas. API 5L ERW pipes carry crude oil and natural gas in field, gathering, and distribution lines.
- Water supply and irrigation. Black and galvanized ERW pipes move water in city, farm, and industrial networks.
- Fire-fighting systems. Galvanized ERW pipes make up sprinkler and hydrant lines.
- Construction and infrastructure. Structural ERW pipes build frames, trusses, columns, and bridges.
- Scaffolding and poles. Light, strong ERW pipes hold up temporary works and street furniture.
- Boilers and heat exchangers. ERW boiler tubes serve low-pressure boilers and heat transfer equipment.
- Food, dairy, and pharmaceutical. Stainless steel ERW pipes keep product clean.
- Automotive and machinery. Mechanical ERW pipes form frames, rollers, and exhaust parts.
