Hastelloy C276 Pipes and Tubes Manufacturer in India

Hastelloy C276 Pipes and Tubes Manufacturer in India

Sachiya Steel International makes Hastelloy C276 Pipes and Tubes for the corrosion problems that other metals cannot survive. Established in 2005, we are a Hastelloy C276 Pipes and Tubes Manufacturer in India, with a facility near Mumbai and an export office in Mumbai. C276 is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy that resists both oxidising and reducing chemicals, so one grade covers wet chlorine, hot mixed acids, chloride brines and the acidic condensate found in flue gas scrubbers.

We supply seamless and welded pipes and tubes in UNS N10276, used in chemical processing, pollution control, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical and oil and gas plants. With ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications, along with PED 2014/68/EU and TUV approvals, we focus on consistent quality and clear documentation. Popular sizes sit in ready stock, subject to availability, and we ship to 85+ countries.

What Are Hastelloy C276 Pipes and Tubes?

Hastelloy C276 pipes and tubes are hollow products made from UNS N10276 (EN 2.4819, NiMo16Cr15W), a nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy with tungsten. Pipes are sized by nominal pipe size (NPS) and schedule, and tubes by exact OD and wall.

The mix of metals is what gives C276 its range. Molybdenum, at about 16%, resists reducing acids such as hydrochloric acid and attacks from chloride pitting. Chromium, at about 15.5%, resists oxidising media. Tungsten adds strength and further pitting resistance. Carbon and silicon are held very low, so the weld zone does not lose corrosion resistance and the alloy can usually be used as welded, with no post-weld heat treatment.

C276 resists a long list of hard-to-handle fluids: wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide, ferric and cupric chlorides, hot contaminated mineral acids, organic acids and solvents. It also resists chloride stress corrosion cracking. The alloy is supplied solution annealed and quenched to give full corrosion resistance.

What Is the Difference Between Hastelloy C276 Pipes and Tubes and Hastelloy C22 Pipes and Tubes?

The short answer: C22 has more chromium, so it handles strongly oxidising media and localised corrosion better, while C276 has more molybdenum, a long service record and a lower price in most markets. Use C276 for general acid, chloride and scrubber service, and C22 where oxidising chemistry or severe pitting is the main risk.

Hastelloy C276 Pipes and Tubes Size and Weight Chart

Weight depends on OD and wall thickness. C276 has a density of about 8.89 g/cm³, so we use this formula for both pipes and tubes:

Weight (kg/m) = (OD − Wall) × Wall × 0.02793

OD and wall are in mm. Example: NPS 2 Sch 80S pipe is (60.3 − 5.54) × 5.54 × 0.02793 = 8.47 kg/m. Multiply by length for total weight. Pipe walls are listed in the next section.

Available Sizes, Dimensions and Schedules

Hastelloy C276 pipes follow ASME B36.19M for Sch 10S, 40S and 80S, and ASME B36.10M for Sch 160. Tubes are ordered by OD and wall in mm or BWG. A schedule is a wall-thickness code, so for the same OD a higher number means a thicker wall. A higher BWG number means a thinner tube wall. Confirm the wall against the design code and your corrosion allowance. Other sizes and walls can be quoted on request.

Tube walls run from 18 BWG (1.24 mm) to 14 BWG (2.11 mm) in the tables, and other walls can be quoted on request. Tolerances on OD, wall and length follow ASTM B829 for seamless products and ASTM B775 for welded pipe, and TEMA covers exchanger tube dimensions. Tell us if your drawing calls for closer limits.
